If you are interested in Korean pop culture, Girls Generation (소녀시대) should certainly not be a strange name. Created by star powerhouse SM Entertainment, the 9 ladies of Girls Generation is one of the most influential and successful female idol groups in Asia.
For this smokey eye tutorial, I tried to recreate the sexy and fierce eye makeup worn by Tiffany. This is a great look for that special News Years celebration.
Products I used,
- Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quad (Chai Latte)
- Nars Duo Eyeshadow (Rajasthan)
- Castledew Diacut Eyes (#901 Planet Diamond)
- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Zero)
- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Mildew)
STEP 2: Apply a deep brown color to the second half of your lid and also drag out the shadow to create a cat eye.
STEP 3: Take a charcoal navy shade and apply it to the second half of your lid. You want to intensify the eye makeup.
STEP 4: Apply a dark purple color to your entire lower lash line.
STEP 5: Line the middle part of your upper lash line with a green eye liner.
STEP 6: Take a black eyeliner and line the entire upper and lower lash line.
STEP 7: Add a nude shimmering color to the center of your lid as highlight and apply a little bit to the center of your bottom lash line as well.
Put on some false lashes, and we are finished with this smokey eye look.
This look may be a bit too much for daytime, but it's perfect for that special occasion, especially for all the upcoming New Years parties. The only unfortunate thing is that I don't own a pair of green contact lens, because I really love how Tiffany rocks the colorful makeup look with her bright hair color.
I'm getting quite excited for Girls Generation's comeback soon, and I spot a different style for their music video, so more makeup tutorials will be coming your way. Until then, have a wonderful New Years and stay safe.

Ooo...love your recreation of the look. Very accurate, I would've never picked out that touch of green on the lid! I've yet to do much make up like this, winging out the shadow without using a liner on top of my shadow, Im soo in love with liquid eye liner to finish looks off! You did a great job, love it but not the group too much. Not a huge fan of their artificial looks in general but the make up is nice. I'd also very much like to try that Castle Dew palette! ^^
ReplyDeleteSame here Sharlynn. Not a big fan of the girls but I do like their style and makeup looks a lot. Castle Dew products are quite nice. It's a bit hard to find sometimes.
DeleteThanks for the awesome step by step tute hun!! I have so many looks I want to possibly do on New Years Eve but not sure which one to decide on! I want to either go for glittery/sparkly cat eye or a more smokey dramatic one like this.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I think both will look really good on you. You can always add on some glitter to a smokey look.
Deletethat's a gorgeous eye look... love the touch of green :)

I can't remember 100% but I think I was wearing the Geo Angel Gray. I did like their new album and comeback a lot. I just don't really like the new style. It simply doesn't suite some of the girls.
DeleteLooks stunning!
