Finding my mom preparing Laba Garlic (腊八蒜) is a definite sign that Chinese New Year is approaching. This is probably the most important and celebrated holiday for my family. And nothing is better than a colorful makeup look to honor this special occasion, which truly brings back lots of childhood memory.
Products used,
- NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil (604 Milk)
- Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner (Black)
- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Zero)
- Ben Nye Lumiere Grande Color Palette
- Wet N Wild Eyeshadow Collection (737 Blue Had Me At Hello)
To prevent fallout, prep the eyelid with a white or nude cream base or primer.
Apply a bright yellow shadow to the inner half of the upper lid.
Paint an orange shade to the outer half of the eyelid. Blend the colors to avoid harsh edges.
Apply a hot pink or red onto the lower lash line and dab the same bright yellow shadow to the middle part as well.
Create a sideway V shape with the hot pink or red shadow and drag it out to achieve a cat eye. Again, blend everything to get a smooth finish.
Line the upper lash line with a black liquid liner and also drag it out to create a cat eye effect.Take a black pencil liner and line the lower lash line. Then use a black eyeshadow and smudge out the liners.
For a more natural look, curl the lashes and apply your favorite mascara. To achieve a dramatic finish, apply false lashes.
The finished look is very colorful and jubilant, which is perfect for any holiday celebrations.
