Urban Decay The Fun Palette|The Makeup Version of An Aquatic Wonderland

Beach, ocean, and bikini? Oh yes summer can be enjoyed all year long with the Urban Decay The Fun Palette. This limited edition palette carries 6 vibrant eyeshadow colors and a mini Lip Junkie Lip Gloss.

This is part of Urban Decay's recent release of its themed limited edition palettes, and "the fun one" really stands out to me because of its vivid and bold colors.

The glittery turquoise case and the golden zipper are the ultimate glamour. It's bigger than my iPhone 4S but can still be hold in one hand. Inside, you will find 6 amazing eyeshadows along with a travel size lip gloss.

  • Deep End (Eyeshadow): bright teal
  • Fishnet (Eyeshadow): bright pink with purple undertone
  • Freakshow (Eyeshadow): deep royal purple
  • Maui Wowie (Eyeshadow): metallic gold with silver glitter
  • Stray Dog (Eyeshadow): metallic ash brown
  • Sellout (Eyeshadow): pink champagne
  • Midnight Cowboy (Lip Gloss): sheer nude with sparkle

Everything about this palette screams fun, bold, and playful. The decent size mirror is also a great compliment. The zipper case is sleek and extremely easy to carry in your everyday bag. It can even double as a clutch.

The best part of this palette is obviously the high quality shadows. I've always been a big fan of Urban Decay shadows and an avid collector myself. But the qualities and pigmentation of these colors really shocked (in a good way) me. These shadows are so smooth, soft, vivid, and long lasting. According to Urban Decay,

Every Eyeshadow features our brand new Pigment Infusion System™, the proprietary blend of ingredients that gives each shade its velvety texture, rich color, serious staying power and blendability.

These definitely feel different than previous collections from Urban Decay. Their smooth texture is very similar to the shadows from Lunasol.

The Fun Palette is very easy to create various looks with, and whether you are wearing a bold party smoky eye or an everyday colorful look, pairing it with a nice nude lips is a must.

Urban Decay has always been know to pay attention to their packaging, and the details on this mini lip gloss shows that.

Midnight Cowboy is a beautiful nude shade with silver iridescent. On the lips, it's very transparent and light, so you'll definitely need to pair it with a lipstick underneath. It also has a strong minty scent, which to me, isn't very pleasant and is the exact same scent as the Cargo Blu Ray Lip Gloss.

I've been playing around with this palette, and it's so easy to create various makeup looks. I did a purple look with Maui Wowie all over the lid, Fishnet on second half of the upper eyelid, and Freakshow on the crease and lower lash line. Finished off with a black eyeliner, and you have a pretty look that is suitable for both day and night. I wore this to to the mall and got tons of compliments.

Would you be getting anything from this limited edition collection? If you can only purchase 1 out the 3 palettes, which one would be your top pick? Share your thoughts in the comments.

  3. Great swatch Angela!!! I can wear all shadows except the two purples. And bravo to Midnight Cowboy lipgloss. I think it's more beautiful on the lips than on the eyes.

    1. Joanne, is there a reason why you think you won't wear the purple shadows? I'm asking because I love purple makeup looks, so the purple shades are right up my alley. However, my favorite out of the whole palette has to be Deep End. It's such a beautiful turquoise color.

    1. Ire, I'm sorry to hear that the colors are not of your interest. Perhaps you can check out other 2 palette. The shadows have great texture and color payoff. If you can find a palette that suites you, you'll probably really love the colors.
