Sephora Collection Creamy Body Wash Caps|Please Enjoy An Expansive Tropical Getaway

I don't usually pay much attention to Sephora's own brand, but once in a while, I'm able to discover exceptional products, for example the Sephora Collection makeup brushes. I stumbled across this Sephora Collection Creamy Body Wash Caps in Mango ($0.80 for 7.9 ml / 0.26 fl. oz), and it's just shocking to see something less than a buck. How can I skip this great deal (or is it really?), so I quickly snatched 2 with my order.

Although this is not an A+ ingredient list, it's actually much better than what I anticipated.

Ingredients: Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Decyl Glucoside, Fragrance, Coco-Glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, Sodium Chloride, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Polyquaternium-7, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Potassium Sorbate, D-Limonene, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Hydroxide, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Fruit Extract, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, CI 14700 (Red 4), PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate, Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides Citrate, Tocopherol, Sodium Citrate, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, CI 19140 (Yellow 5), CI 42090 (Blue 1)

The creamy texture of this body wash feels awesome on the skin and provides decent lather. What I love the most is the heavenly scent of mango. It's fruity, girly, and everything you adore for an amazing tropical bath. If I can put this smell into a perfume, I'll probably be wearing it 24/7.

The single-served cap is perfect for traveling and is extremely easy to use. The thing I do have to complain is that although it does a great job, it doesn't feel as clean as some of my other body washes. It's almost unnoticeable, but since I always rotate several products in my shower, it's very easy to catch the slight difference.

Now comes the question if this is really a good deal. When I first spot this, I was like, "only 80 cents, how cheap!" But then when I worked out the math, this is actually quite expansive

Each cap gives about 1 - 1.5 times of usage. If you take a jar and fill it with 20 caps, that gives you about at most a month of supply (assuming you shower everyday). Now, this jar is going to cost you $16, which is kind of expansive for a body wash that only lasts no more than a month. But, if you are buying this for that occasional out of town moment or vacation getaway, I'd say go for it. It's much better than dragging around a full size product.

Overall, a nice body wash with wonderful scent but probably not something I'll ever repurchase.

What is your favorite scent when it comes to a relaxed and comfortable bath experience?

  1. Bah! I just posted about these a few days ago. I couldn't get the dang product out of the packaging. I was literally standing in the shower cursing at it trying to get it to open. So these were a huuuuuuge fail in my book. Maybe I just got a bad one?

I will say that I liked the body wash, but I also agree about the price. You're definitely paying for the "convenience" factor. Which, in my case, was a bit of a misnomer.

    1. Sarah, I also had a hard time getting that last bit of product out. I ended it cutting it open, which is not a good thing. The price is high for a generic Sephora brand, but it is very convenient if I'm traveling a lot.

  2. It's so funny that also JUST saw these on the Sephora website too. I thought these would make great fillers if you were *this close* to getting free shipping on an order! I would try these just to sample a few new scents.

    1. Tina, these will work great for fillers on free shipping orders. I may repurchase again for that purchase, but otherwise, I'd skip these.

  3. These might be nice for traveling still. I like how you worked out the value though :)

    1. Melissa, looks like the Vanilla scented one is still in stock on Sephora right now. Definitely give it a try if that is your favorite scent.

  5. It's a cute idea but I would NEVER pay $0.80 for a tiny little pod like that. I use a LOT of body wash when I bathe, partly because I like to get really, really sudsy and partly because I scrub each part of my body quite vigorously and thoroughly (in other words, I go over the same part over and over til most of the suds are gone, then I squeeze some more body wash on the poof and start on another limb). One pod looks to be about how much I would use on just my arms. Then 1 pod for each my legs and 2 for my neck and torso. If I used 5-6 pods for every shower, those showers would start to get pretty pricey! :P

    1. Becca, I think the high price tag is really for the convenience factor rather than the actual product, because I would also never pay this much for shower gels. And not to mention that this is a decent product but definitely not A+.
